Creative Aging Symposium

Our Creative Aging Symposium has morphed into a Creative Aging Exchange!

We face more challenges now than ever before so we will cover an array of topics to meet these growing challenges and needs of our older adult population and those closest to them. With this population doubling in our state by 2030, it is critical that we connect thought leaders, innovators and community partners to advance the field of creative aging. We invite professionals from across the spectrum of creativity and aging – from family and professional caregivers to artists, practitioners, researchers, arts institutions, health and human services agencies, and senior service organizations and administrators – to participate.

You have 3 choices for participation:

May 1st from 12 noon to 4pm at Woodland Terrace Senior Living, 300 Kildaire Woods Dr., Cary

May 2nd from 8am to 12 noon at Lusk Center, 2501 Summit Ave., Greensboro

May 3rd from 8am to 12 noon at Southminster, 8919 Park Road, Charlotte

Join with us to engage in solution-oriented dialogue about the future of creativity and aging in North Carolina. This is an opportunity to share your insights about what works for you and your community as an artist, an older adult or an aging service professional. We will share challenges identified by our 2014 Arts and Aging Survey, and work together to identify solutions. Our aim is the development of an online media campaign which will lead to a bigger, stronger network that will benefit communities, industries, and individuals, including those who wish to pursue careers in creative aging for years to come.
